Nativity of Samuel

The story of 1 Samuel begins with the unlikely birth of a baby boy who will be devoted to the service of the Lord. Samuel is regarded as one of the greatest prophets in Israel, but his story started with the faith of his mother Hannah, who was barren. She prayed for a child "... and the Lord remembered her" (1 Samuel 1:19).
